Nashville-based indie folk singer-songwriter Erin Rae takes her live show to Shetland for the first time this autumn.
Since releasing her critically acclaimed debut ‘Putting on Airs’ in 2018, followed by 2022’s ‘Lighten Up’, she has emerged as one of Nashville’s most foremost songwriters.
Having been nominated in the ‘emerging act’ category at the 2019 Americana Music Awards, the latter record earned praise from Rolling Stone, Pitchfork and NPR Music. ‘Lighten Up’ takes listeners on a swelling journey through psychedelia, cosmic country and Topanga Canyon-inspired indie folk.
In 2023 she earned the “Jim James Award” for most sit-ins at Newport Folk Festival, guesting with artists including Mavis Staples, Margo Price and Mavis Staples, while she has also shared stages with Jenny Lewis, Jason Isbell, Ray Lamontagne, and Iron & Wine.
